I have some exciting new character art to share with you all, coupled with the scene the art is depicting!
OENONE opens with the transformation of a sculpture from a solid piece of marble into a human woman. Steph at @s_holdthebus on Instagram captured this scene perfectly. See below for the SFW and NSFW versions of her artwork, and then a sneak peek of this scene from the novel!

I came awake with a shudder, gasping for breath and expecting another wave of smoke to choke me even as the lick of the fire sizzled away my flesh. But instead a cool, drafty air replaced the inferno that had killed me, though the aching of my heart remained. Disorientation distracted from the pain in my chest, not to mention the physical relief of no longer being burnt alive. Blinking bleariness from my eyes, I tried to take in my surroundings, though I could not make any sense of them. The room was stark, apart from the many pictures that adorned the walls. White walls, bathed in a faint yellowish light coming from the center of the large, nearly empty room.
I shivered, feeling gooseflesh rising on my arms against the cold. Glancing down, I found that my upper body was completely bare. In fact, the only item of clothing I had on was a loose white peplos draped low on my wide hips, almost like a loose white sheet. This was not the only thing that was startling, however. More concerning than my nakedness was the tall pedestal I was slouched atop. Trembling, I tried to maintain my balance as I swung my feet around, wondering how to get off. But how did I even get on? I thought. What is this place? And where is Paris? Where is anyone?
Swaying, I put my hand to my mouth, feeling nauseous and heavy with the weight of my confusion, and stumbled from my perch. I landed hard on the wooden floor. Yelping, I rubbed my knees which would surely be bruised, and tried to get a handle on myself. As I stood I steadied myself with a hand upon the column I’d fallen from. Beneath my hand was a white plaque which read ‘Oenone. Harriet Hosmer. Marble. 1854-1855.’Â
OENONE will be out this year on August 18th, 2026. You can pre-order the ebook today here: https://books2read.com/u/3Lq6kw
What am I reading right now? I'm reading As Seen on TV by Meredith Schorr.
This adorable romcom centers on Adina, an up and coming journalist who is determined to launch her career. Obsessed with Hallmark movies, she journeys to a small town in Upstate New York to investigate a new apartment complex being built by a billionaire. She hopes to find a charming real-life Hallmark town but the town itself is anything but. Determined to find a story there, she stays, and keeps bumping into the handsome project manager working on the apartment complex.
So far this reads just like a Hallmark movie: cute, cozy, funny, and charming. Adina is naive but likable, and Finn is delightfully swoon-worthy. I can't wait to see how their story pans out!
